The demise of a great Australian off-road camper trailer company

The team at Ultimate Off-Road Campers are shocked and saddened by the sudden closure of Brisbane-based off road camper trailer manufacturer, Aussie Swag Campers.

Run by brothers Scott and James Fernance, the company produced award-winning, Australian-made off road campers, employed locals and operated with integrity. Yes, we competed for the same off-road customers, we lost some potential customers to them and them to us. After shows we’d have a beer or eight, chat about the industry and anything else that came to mind.

Today, 15 February 2018, there was an auction at their Brendale manufacturing facility and showroom. They have cited increased competition from cheap imports as the reason for them having to “pull the plug” on a great Aussie business that has been operating since 1985.

The shows will have a little less quality products to choose from and a little less fun. No doubt their place will be taken by another cheap import company.

We hope to see them back in some shape or form in the industry in the years ahead.
