Towing
- ATM
- Maximum loaded trailer mass when uncoupled.
- GTM
- Maximum mass carried by trailer wheels while coupled.
- GVM
- Maximum loaded tow-vehicle mass.
- GCM
- Maximum combined loaded vehicle and trailer mass.
- Ball load
- Downward coupling load imposed on the tow vehicle.
- Payload
- Capacity remaining for options, fluids and cargo within a mass limit.
Electrical
- BMS
- Battery-management system that monitors and protects a battery.
- Inverter
- Converts battery DC power into AC power for compatible appliances.
- Solar controller
- Regulates energy from solar panels into the battery system.
- Amp-hour
- Battery charge measure that must be interpreted with voltage and usable limits.
- Watt-hour
- A measure of energy: watts multiplied by hours.
Camper and plumbing
- Grey water
- Wastewater from sinks or showers, excluding toilet waste.
- Potable water
- Water considered suitable for drinking.
- Breakaway system
- Emergency system designed to apply trailer brakes if separation occurs.
- Stabiliser
- A support used after parking; not normally a lifting jack.
- Compliance plate
- Vehicle information plate carrying identifiers and approved mass or equipment details.
