Reviewed August 2026 · General information
Loading changes total mass, coupling download, axle load and stability. Every addition must fit within the camper, tow vehicle and combination limits.
Start with an inventory
- Water and gas
- Batteries and fixed options
- Food, clothing and personal equipment
- Tools, spares and recovery gear
- Racks, bicycles and external accessories
Control position as well as mass
Follow Ultimate's storage and loading guidance. Keep heavy items low, secured and in approved locations. Moving mass rearward merely to reduce ball load can reduce stability; moving it forward can overload the coupling or tow vehicle rear axle.
Measure the finished result
- Weigh in normal travel condition
- Confirm vehicle and camper totals
- Check individual axle or axle-group loads
- Measure coupling download with suitable equipment
- Recheck after major equipment or battery changes
