A maintenance calendar should follow the current Ultimate and component schedules, with shorter intervals after water crossings, corrugations, dust, salt or long storage.
Before every trip
- Tyres, wheels and wheel hardware
- Coupling, chains and breakaway system
- Brakes, lights and electrical connectors
- Gas, water and visible leak checks
- Canvas, seals, latches and moving components
During and after demanding travel
- Inspect tyres and underbody after impacts
- Check loose fasteners and abnormal movement
- Clean salt, mud and compacted debris appropriately
- Dry canvas and living equipment
- Record faults while the trip is fresh
Scheduled professional service
Wheel bearings, brakes, suspension, gas and electrical work require the appropriate competence and licensing. Keep invoices and service records against the camper number so future diagnosis and resale are easier.
